New Purse Project

New Purse Project

Last week, while shopping at a local quilt shop, I discovered the cutest purse.  Unfortunately, the pattern was sold out, but my name was placed on a waiting list and today, while taking my very dear friends to the airport for their return trip to Chicago, the quilt shop telephoned to let me know that the pattern had arrived.

After dropping my friends at the airport, I was thrilled to have an excuse to go back to the quilt shop so headed straight there.  I had purchased quite a bit last week, so told myself to go in, purchase the pattern, and head straight back to the car.  Yea right, like that’s ever going to happen when I enter a store filled with beautiful fabric!

Anyway,  I did end up spending more money than I had planned and yes, I did indeed buy more fabrc.  I just couldn’t resist this yellow & black and it’s perfect for the purse pattern I was picking up.  So, as soon as I get my sewing machine set back up and my cutting table out of the garage, this is what I will be working with.

I’m telling you Vera, they know me all too well in that quilt shop and they know I am weak! I should’ve sent someone in on my behalf to buy that pattern! :-D

Grace – I thought an apron would be really cute out of the yellow & black too, but didn’t buy enough fat 1/4’s (they weren’t on sale!)

Duni – I agree, and the flap is the sole reason I bought this pattern! It has a hidden magnetic snap underneath and the button is just decoration which means any cute button will work!

Can’t wait to see the finished product. That’s always the hard part for me, finding the time.

Judi – Time issues would probably explain the enormous number of projects I have sitting, waiting to be worked on! Doesn’t seem to stop me from purchasing the next project though! :-D

That is gorgeous fabric and a very cute bag. I’ve seen that bag on Etsy before – I think.

Ellen – Really? I might need to make a few design changes then! You know, I can’t be making the same thing as someone else. :-D

Thank you Jennifer and Levi! I hope to get a chance to make it now that I got the fabric! I’ve been so busy lately, can’t even get into my sewing room to cut the fabric!
