Four Foods on Friday #68

posted in blogging, home |

This week has flown by and I can’t believe it’s Friday! I have to work both days of the weekend, so I’m not really celebrating the end of the week, however, it is still time for my favorite meme and so, here it is.

If you would like to participate in Four Foods on Friday, head over to Fun, Crafts and Recipes and check it out!

This weeks questions and my answers:

#1. Coffee. Do you use ground, bean or pods? I use whole bean and grind one bag at a time. A bag usually lasts us about a week and a half.

#2. Coffee filters. Do you use paper, gold or other? I use filters made from recycled paper.

#3. Tea. Do you prefer tea bags, loose tea or something else? I always use tea bags, I’m not good at measuring tea to get it the right strength.

#4. Share a recipe for something you like to eat with coffee or tea. Well, my favorite thing to eat with coffee is probably the frosted lemon pound cake at Starbucks. I’ve never actually made it myself though. I don’t even like the coffee at Starbucks, but will occasionally get a cafe mocha latte there though.

I have tried and tried and tried, and I simply can’t make a good cup of coffee. So I bought an espresso machine. It’s heaven, and I don’t have to pay Starbucks.

I don’t care for Starbucks coffee either. I cannot find any hot drinks I like there.

I am not a coffee drinker so most of those were lost on me :) . I am fascinated by the ground beans by the bag. That sounds like a method for a true coffee aficionado.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I sure do love me some sweet tea!

Gotta put the sugar in when the tea is hot, though. Otherwise, it just ain’t made right!

The mocah latte is the only thing I can drink at Starbucks and it has to have whip cream on top to tone down the bitter flavor!

They say the coffee is fresher if the beans are ground just before brewing. I grind a bag of beans and what I’m not using immediately I keep stored in the freezer. Freezing is also supposed to help keep the flavor fresher. There is nothing worse than a cup of bitter, stale coffee.

Paul, I used to be strictly a sweet tea drinker. I really don’t even remember why I switched to unsweetened, but now I can’t handle the sugar. I do put flavored creamer in my coffee every morning though.

Wow, you grind your own coffee beans, I’m impressed :)

Oooh – the frosted lemon pound cake sounds heavenly! Coffee is a rare treat for me, because I tend to load it up with french vanilla creamer. I also like to have something sweet on the side. Not a good thing when you’re watching calories :-)

I’m a big tea drinker, but I’ve never been compelled to try loose tea. I know I’d end up with some floaters.
