Dolphin Bubbles

Dolphin Bubbles

Earlier in the week, we here in Dallas had temperatures in the low to mid 80’s. In fact, I was out trimming bushes just this past Sunday, sweating in the heat and just about ready to jump into our swimming pool for a refreshing dip. Tuesday night, everything changed. The winds changed direction bringing in buckets of rain and cold temperatures, and I mean in the 30’s! What I wouldn’t give for a nice vacation to Florida right now.

To make Florida even more enticing, I saw this video of the dolphins at Seaworld and I would be thrilled to go watch these Dolphin Bubbles in person. This is the same video that was seen recently on ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson, if you haven’t all ready seen it, you really have to watch this!

Dolphins really are an intelligent mammal and have developed a playful way to entertain themselves by blowing bubbles. These aren’t just any bubble, these are carefully blown bubbles that the dolphins then twirl, or toss, or play with before actually popping them. It’s truly amazing to watch and its an amazing behavior to observe. I’d love to hear if you’ve ever seen the Dolphin Bubbles in person and what you thought of it.

That is so amazing. Who can doubt how intelligent all animals are. Saw a video of a dog that tried to save another dog who was hit by a car. Other dogs have saved their owners from housefires. Birds can vocalize. Even ants have their own type of communication system. I’m glad I don’t eat animals.

I do believe animals are intelligent, some more so than others, but I am always fascinated in the ways they communicate with each other. I believe dolphins are one of the most intelligent of all mammals.

This was very beautiful to watch. My husband played with them when we vacationed in Bermuda. :-) Thanks again for dropping by and wishing me well on my anniversary.

Jennifer – We had a false alarm, making us think it was almost summer. We had a few warm days and then it dropped back into the 40’s. Oh well, hopefully soon we’ll see the warm temps stick around longer!
