Framed By Lena

When my husband and I were dating, one of the big shows on television was Star Search, the American Idol of the ’80’s. In fact, that’s where I remember first seeing Rosie O’Donnell and the country music group “Sawyer Brown” for the first time among others. Today there is American Idol, Nashville Star, America’s Got Talent and others that can help people get their start doing something they love to do.

Of course, getting on one of those shows is a long shot, just look at the hundreds of thousands of people that try out for American Idol each season. So, many talented people look for other ways to be seen and heard. That is exactly what Lena, a young 12 year old girl from Los Angeles has done. She’s taken her music to the internet, and, if you’re curious, you can hear Lena’s Songon her Facebook page.

Lena has been singing as long as she can remember and her talent is obvious when you listen to her song “Framed”. She has a mature sound and collaborated with Kosta Lois, a music composer and producer, to create this terrific song. Visit Lena’s Facebook page and see what you think, she could very well be the next big star!

Lack of Sewing

I haven’t had much time to sew lately so I’ve had no finished projects to showcase.  Last week, my daughter was on Spring Break while my husband and I both had to work.  She utilized her time well though and completed a project for her 7th grade reading class.  She made a fabric doll representing one of the characters of the book, “The Westing Game”.  She has sewn a little bit in the past, but this was a major project and I so I supervised and did some teaching, it was really a great experience for both of us.

I do have a few photos and need to take a picture of her final, finished doll.  As soon as I have it all together, I’ll post the pictures, I’m so very proud of her, I just want to share!

In the mean time, happy sewing!
