Not So Wordless Wednesday – Sewing Storage

This was the photo I posted last week of my super clean sewing room. In fact, it was so clean, there was no sign that any sewing ever took place in this room. Well, all that sewing equipment and supplies had to go somewhere and that somewhere was into the closet.

In fact, there was so much stuff piled into that closet that I had to warn everyone to NOT open the door! Because of that warning, I had many curious people ask to see the inside of that closet. Well, the door is somewhat narrow, so it was difficult to get a picture. The photo really only shows about 1/3 of the total amount of “stuff” stuffed into the closet, but, maybe you can get an idea. :-D

Branson Shopping Package

My birthday is coming up much more quickly than I care to think about, but I saw something this morning

Hilton Branson Convention Center

that peaked my interest, a Branson Shopping Package at the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel in Branson, Missouri. The package deal includes a great room at the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel, a breakfast buffet and, best of all, a gift card that can be used at many shops located in Branson Landing or it could even be used to buy gas at several of the gas stations in the area.

Now I know what you’re thinking, how am I ever going to convince my husband to go to Branson using shopping to entice him? Well, I have thought it through and did my research. You see, shopping isn’t the only thing going on in Branson! For example, the Payne Stewart Golf Club is only 3 miles away from both the HIlton Branson Convention Center Hotel or the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and both hotels offer golf packages to help golf enthusiasts enjoy the newest course in Branson.

If golf isn’t enough to get my husband to Branson, there is always the upcoming NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament March 11-19, 2009, a single-elimination tournament featuring the champions of the Division II conferences and regional tournaments. Basketball is a sport that really is more enjoyable when it’s seen in person, at least in my opinion!

My husband hasn’t fished in years, but if my dad were still alive, he’d love to attend the Walmart FLW Bass Tournament March 12-15, 2009. Branson is in the Ozarks and fishing is plentiful, what better place to hold the Bass Tournament?

You see, I’ve been wanting to visit Branson, MO for years and this may just be the best time ever to make it happen.  Happy Birthday to me! :-D

New Purse Project

Last week, while shopping at a local quilt shop, I discovered the cutest purse.  Unfortunately, the pattern was sold out, but my name was placed on a waiting list and today, while taking my very dear friends to the airport for their return trip to Chicago, the quilt shop telephoned to let me know that the pattern had arrived.

After dropping my friends at the airport, I was thrilled to have an excuse to go back to the quilt shop so headed straight there.  I had purchased quite a bit last week, so told myself to go in, purchase the pattern, and head straight back to the car.  Yea right, like that’s ever going to happen when I enter a store filled with beautiful fabric!

Anyway,  I did end up spending more money than I had planned and yes, I did indeed buy more fabrc.  I just couldn’t resist this yellow & black and it’s perfect for the purse pattern I was picking up.  So, as soon as I get my sewing machine set back up and my cutting table out of the garage, this is what I will be working with.
