Black & Yellow Purse Update

Wow! Time flies and I don’t seem to be making much progress on my latest project! Last post I showed the strips of fabric and then I sewed them together to create the front and back of the purse. The next step was to use fusible fleece on both the front and back which is shown here.

I then pinned a tissue pattern cut in the shape of the purse to cut the front and back.

My next step is to work on the sides, bottom and handle. I had to make a quick run to the fabric store to purchase a stiffer fusible interfacing. I’ll be showing those next steps soon!

    Thanks!!

The fleece you use is it the normal thin fleese used in collars and such? Or is it thicker?

laane – I like to use the thicker fleece, but it is getting harder to find for some reason.

Amazingly, I’m not a big fan of yellow either, but I loved the fabric combination for this particular purse and the yellow and black make the strip of fabric pop. This bag could be made using any color combination, another thing I love about it.

    Very nice.
I just bought a booklet of tote bag patterns at the library used book sale over the weekend. I’ve never made a purse or a tote bag before, but I’m planning one now!
