Volunteering for a Great Cause

National Volunteer Week was back in April, so, I’m a bit slow in posting this, but I really admire what this one individual did and wanted to share it. You know, there are so many ways in which we can all volunteer and actively make change happen in this world that we live in. This young man, Bilaal, did an amazing thing, he chose to go barefoot for the full National Volunteer Week in order to bring attention to the children of the world who don’t have shoes.

Think about it for a moment. How would it feel to not put your shoes on for a full week? I don’t know about you, but my feet are pretty sensitive and pampered by good shoes, so no having them to protect my feet when I’m out and about would be pretty drastic! This is even more impressive because Bilaal is a very young man, a student, and is all ready thinking of ways to make an impact and to get others involved. I’m very impressed with his Barefoot Challenge and his determination to raise awareness for underprivileged children around the world.

Take a look for yourself and I think you’ll agree, this young man is vary mature for his age
