Great Weekend for Softball

Great Weekend for Softball

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend!  It FINALLY quit raining here in north Texas and so it is a softball filled weekend for us.

The alarm went off at 5 this morning and we were on the road at 5:45, headed to Arlington, about a 75 minute drive.  My daughter’s fastpitch softball team had an 8 am game and then another at 9.  They played their first bracket game at 11:30 which they won 13-1 (it was called on the mercy rule) and went on to play the next bracket game at 4.  Unfortunately they lost their last game so we will be returning tomorrow morning for another 8 am game.  It is double elimination, so I hope they win in the morning, it’s a long drive for just one game.

In the mean time, we are enjoying some nice dry weather, a bit humid, but at least it did quit raining after 8 straight days.

Sorry for not returning drops, but I’m exhausted.  I do wish everyone a Happy Weekend!

Thanks Heidi! I really struggled to get out of bed today, I’m so looking forward to not having any plans this weekend, even though we had a lot of fun at the softball tournament!

I am now retyping my comment for the third time. I do have the spam numbers in place.

Oh wow Arlington. Oh boy, I remember when Arlington was actually not attached to Dallas. I remember when Ft. Worth and Dallas were actually different cities with empty fields on the side of the road. I am old, I think!!

Well, so much for your dry weather. Get ready, if it’s not there already it probably will be. There have been storms moving through here all afternoon.

I haven’t had the t.v. on as I have been trying to get caught up with visits. But, they seem to moving in from the N.W. and south.

You know Lynne I am just 27 miles over the state line into Oklahoma right up 69/75. Wow, I can remember when Central Expressway was small and Arlington was actually a place you drove to outside of Dallas and Ft. Worth.

Oh my it is late and I am headed to bed. I am so pleased you stopped over. It’s like chatting with a neighbor almost!!

I am off to bed. I hope you have a great day tomorrow!! Spam check…yup..good to go!!

Jackie – Thanks for being persistent and leaving this comment! It’s good to hear from you and how did I never realize that we only live 2 hours (or less)apart?! I live right off of 75, just east of Allen and south of McKinney.

I can also remember when the only thing between Dallas and Ft Worth was the airport and it seemed as if the airport were out in the middle of nowhere! When we spent the weekend driving back and forth to Arlington, I actually told my husband how amazing it is to see all the growth, not to mention the traffic.

The storms did show up here last night, they roared in I should say! Looks like the heavy stuff is done, at least for now. It was over 90 yesterday and today only 70. Welcome to Fall!
