Wordless Wednesday – Quilted Turtle Wall Hanging

I’m late with this, but I have a VIP in my house this week (my mom!) and we’ve been super busy. I have a project almost finished that I can’t wait to share with you, but for now, I’m going to post my favorite meme, Four Foods on Friday, hosted by Valmg.
This week’s questions and my answers:
1. What do you do with turkey leftovers? This year, my husband make a big pot of turkey soup and I made a turkey pot pie. Of course, we always have turkey sandwiches!
2. How do you make split pea soup? I don’t care for split pea soup so I don’t make it.
3. What do you like on top of your pie? Most pie flavors I eat by themselves, I don’t care for ala mode, but pumpkin pie has to have a good whip cream!
4. What kind of turkey do you usually buy? I buy whatever is on sale. This year I had a Jenny-O brand and it was quite tasty.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.
My nephew married his new wife this past July and they moved to St. Louis where he is attending law school and she has started her new career as a high school teacher. My mom & I were just discussing how fortunate she is to have been able to obtain such a good job during this time of economic recession, especially since, other than student teaching, she has no experience (to my knowledge).
I think that the most important thing my new niece had going for her was that she obtained her Masters Degree before entering the job market. I have worked in the schools in the past and I know that many teachers aspire to get their Masters, but it can really be difficult to do once you’ve started working full time. Many of my teaching friends have been working at earning their higher degrees online. In fact, The USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC offers current educators and aspiring teachers the prestige of earning a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from an elite research university with the convenience and flexibility of studying online. Their School of Education has been ranked #22 in the U.S. and #9 in private univerisities by US News and World Report.
USC Rossier School of Education program information shows that students have the opportunity to learn from distinguished USC faculty while earning a Master of Arts in Teaching from a school that has been teaching educators for over 100 years. This program combines online learning with field experience that takes place in your own home town. Plus, if you’re thinking about the financing, they have a ground breaking tuition reimbursement program that might be worth checking out.
In this time of high unemployment and low job availability, it seems to be the perfect time to further your education, doesn’t it?

Woke up this morning to snow in North Texas. Once again, the weatherman was completely wrong. Snow was NOT supposed to be in our area and yet, here is the proof!
Mind you, coming from Chicago, we’re accustomed to snow, but the biggest reason we moved to Texas was because my husband wanted to get away from snow! Seriously, it was over 70 here on Friday, now it’s in the 30’s. My daughter is scheduled to play in a softball tournament this weekend too, I sure hope it warms up!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.
I don’t know about you, but when I think of wool, I think itchy! During my lifetime I’ve owned wool sweaters and even a pair or two of wool pants and I can tell you, I never really enjoyed wearing them, even though they did look nice. I’ve pretty much shied away from anything wool in recent years, but I might just be changing my mind.
Ramblers Way Wool is a U.S. company raising American Rambouillet sheep which provides a superfine wool which they then use to create beautiful clothing.
The clothing they create from the Rambouillet wool can be worn almost year around because the properties of the wool can keep you warm or cool. The clothing designs are classic and will be wearable for years, a good investment to any wardrobe. Wool is a natural and renewable product and the clothing from Ramblers Way is prewashed and chemical free.

I love the scoop neck short sleeve top. It could be worn alone or underneath other garments. In fact, I could probably use at least two of these in my wardrobe, it’s such a versatile, not to mention comfortable shirt! What do you think?
