Jewelry Review – Wow! Imports Name Necklace

I am delighted to say that I received a special package in the mail and was asked to give my personal opinion on the contents of the envelope and the item that was stowed away inside the pretty little gold colored box inside the envelope.  The necklace is mine to keep and, in exchange, I am writing this review which is completely my own opinion.  I want to thank Parent Reviewers for the opportunity to do this review.

I love getting packages in the mail, who doesn’t! But when it’s a piece of jewelry inside, that is even more exciting!

I quickly tore open the envelope and lifted off the lid of the little gold box to find a very shiny, very pretty, silver name necklace.

I’m fairly particular when it comes to jewelry, but this piece definitely exceeded my expectations. The name itself is very easy to read and is made of a thicker metal, so not easily bent or broken. The name is connected to a very pretty silver box chain 16 inches in length which goes nicely with just about any style of shirt or dress. The connections are all nice and smooth so they don’t scratch the skin at all and I like the box style chain because I find them to be stronger, not to mention, I think they catch the light and give off more sparkle than other styles of chains!

If you are looking for a birthday or graduation gift, or maybe even a little bling for yourself, you should certainly check out the name necklaces from Wow! Imports. There are many different styles to choose from and different chain lengths as well. Some also are available in 14K or 18K gold. There is a nice range of prices too, to fit any budget.

Note: Other than the necklace, I have received no other compensation for this review and the opinions are 100% my own.

Four Foods on Friday #114

A simple Four Foods on Friday meme to kick off the weekend!

This week’s questions and my answers:

* Who makes the best hamburger/cheeseburger? I like the burgers from JC’s Burgerhouse, but we have a new joint in town called Mooyah and they do a pretty darn good job too!

* Who makes the best french fries? McDonalds

* Who makes the best shake? Steak & Shake

* Who makes the best chicken? That one is tough, I liked the KFC in Illinois, but can’t stand the one here. I tend to go to Chicken Express now.

Not So Wordless Wednesday – Best Friends

sick

My daughter was home sick yesterday, she had some sort of stomach bug and was completely worn out. This is what I saw when I walked into her room yesterday morning. A true friend is one who sticks by you even when you are at your worst and I’d say the dog is definitely a true friend!

My Mini Moment Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dove Ice Cream. All opinions are 100% mine.

This has been a crazy couple of days. It started yesterday, after finishing work at noon, I headed out to due some errands. I had just walked into the pet supply store my cell phone rang. Surprisingly, it was my daughter calling from school to tell me she was sick and needed me to pick her up. Well, that shot the rest of my errands out the window! I grabbed the much needed dog food, paid the cashier and headed to the school.

After picking her up, I knew she hadn’t eaten lunch and wasn’t sure why she wasn’t feeling well. This is a kid who NEVER gets sick and hasn’t missed a day of school since 2nd grade. She said she felt hungry so I grabbed her a roast beef sandwich to go and we headed home. 30 minutes after getting her comfy on the sofa in front of the t.v., she was running to the bathroom throwing up. This happened several more times and I’m sure, all you parents know, getting anything done while your child is sick is pretty much never going to happen. I even had to have my husband stop by and grab me some deodorant, one of the items on my to do list that didn’t get done.

Today, she stayed home from school all day. It was rough because I do work from home, but I am on a very set schedule. I did what I could do make her comfortable, checking on her every hour or so until I got off at 1:30. I even managed to heat up a can of chicken noodle soup for each which she managed to eat… and keep down!

By this afternoon, I was ready for a break, any break! That’s when I decided to take a few minutes to myself and spend some time online. I discovered the Dove Ice Cream (which I had just purchased less than an hour before while at the grocery getting items for my daughter), has launched a new contest and let me tell you, this one is right up my alley because it’s all about “me time”!

The “My Mini Moment” contest DOVE® Ice Cream asks women to share their favorite mini moment of escape and one lucky winner could win one of 3 sensational mini-grand prizes: a mini-getaway to Napa Valley, Spa services for a year or a mini-home makeover. Women need to submit a photo and short essay at DoveIceCream.com/myminimoment by June 7, 2010.

Just like 70% of the 400 mothers that Dove Ice Cream Miniatures surveyed, I feel it’s important to take time for myself each and every day. It’s so easy to get lost in “motherhood” and I don’t want to lose myself. Taking time to be me makes me a better mom.

Be sure to enter the contest and express your favorite way to take a mini moment! I’m off now to indulge in my own mini moment with a Dove Ice Cream miniature! I don’t even have to feel guilty because they only have 70 calories or less!

Feeling Sluggish

Plinko May 09

This is our dog, just a wee bit spoiled! This photo represents how I feel, I really just want to stay in bed with the covers pulled up over my head.

Lately I feel that time is moving quickly and that I am moving in slow motion, I am feeling so sluggish and unmotivated. I really need to finish the baby quilt, the baby is arriving next week! I have also been working on recovering our patio furniture cushions. I only have 3 more to do and that project will be complete, I just can’t seem to make myself go finish either of these projects. Now my daughter is home sick with some sort of stomach bug. Good thing I work from home, at least I am getting paid for some of my time!
