Help Desperately Needed in The Gulf

posted in news |

It seems to me that a tragedy has to occur somewhere in the world other than within the boundaries of the United States for the government of the United States to step up and get into action. We are now in the 56th day of the tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico and we keep seeing the exact same images. The beaches that might be in danger and the oil still spilling from the broken pipe deep below the water. What we aren’t being shown are the animals that are suffering and in desperate need of immediate help.

These animals are in peril and many have all ready died.  Why is there not something being done?  Many species, including the Loggerhead Turtle which was all ready listed as threatened before the oil disaster in the Gulf, are washing ashore, dead.  Mr. Obama, I beg you, step up!

I want to thank Christy from Bring Me Up for posting this video.

You are so right, I feel like if this happened anywhere else there would be benefit concerts and help pouring in from all corners of the world.

Christy – I am getting madder by the minute and am going to check into some of the other links I’m finding on the web. The only thing the government seems to be doing is holding congressional hearings and that’s not doing anything to provide immediate assistance to the area and its wildlife.

BTW, I added your link to my post, something I originally forgot to do.

The situation is bad, and has been going on far too long; though I disagree the government has been doing something, BP has been doing something, private citizens have been doing things, and the Coast Guard has been doing something. None of it seems to be enough, all is helping; but slowly and the problem continues. This proves I hope to the stupid Drill Baby Drill People we desperately need to use alternative energy sources. Seems over and over again our dependency on oil is a problem. It causes wars, it causes one disaster after another.

I’ve been ashore and seen the magic of the Green Turtle’s when they come in to make their nest, and it’s an awesome site…thrilling to watch. This is very sad. Good of you to post video so people will be more aware.

It is heartbreaking to see the animals suffer like this, and frustrating not to be able to give hands on help (at least that’s how I feel).
Sadly, in the society we live in today, and the way humans treat each other – is it any wonder that animals are last on the list to receive help?
