A New Softball Home
My daughter played with a particular fastpitch softball team since last August. It was a decent ride, with quite a few bumps along the way. Last month, the team folded leaving the players homeless and all of them looking for a new team. Thankfully, we had sensed something was wrong and my daughter and all ready been speaking with a couple of different teams about the possibility of picking up with them. One team in particular she has actually been working out with for the last 4 weeks. 2 weeks ago, she learned that another team was being created and so she has also been working out with them. This girl has been going to 3 different workouts of 3 hours each, plus a batting lesson each week. No wonder she is so fit!
The good news is that not one, but both teams asked her to sign on! She had to make a very tough decision, but in the end, I think she made the right one. She has chosen the first team and will be playing with them this weekend. She was also invited to play with them for Nationals, but, because we didn’t know about it, we will be out of town visiting our new grand baby! Oh well, she will have plenty of time to play and the plan to go to Nationals again next year so she will still get that opportunity.
Now I can relax, she has found a new, and better, softball home!
