Holiday Decorating

This post brought to you by Pier 1 Imports. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you use the same holiday decorations year after year after year like I do?  I know, it’s usually just us, we don’t do a lot of holiday entertaining ,but I still like the house to look nice for the holidays, even if nobody special is coming over.  Still, after having some of the same decorations for so many years, I am so ready to look for something new.

I’ve been shopping around for a while for new decorations.  I want items that look nice but don’t cost me a fortune.  I’ve been working on some quilted wall hangings for the house, but I don’t want everything to be handmade either, that can look too country for my taste.  Plus, over the years I’ve tried to extend the decorating so that it’s not just in the family room, especially since this house has a family room that is completely open to the kitchen.  I want some decorations that I can spice up the kitchen with too.

So today I was checking out Pier 1 and discovered some really festive holiday dinner ware that would bring the colors of the season into the kitchen.  Plus, I found some small wreaths I could hang on the walls or even lay on the island with a nice candle in the middle to decorate very simply.  Of course, if someone wants to buy me a gift, I would love the holiday stemware!  I would really enjoy drinking my eggnog out of something so pretty!

By the way, if you shop at Pier 1 during November and December, they are a drop of point for Toys for Tots, an organization that we contribute to annually.  If you don’t have a toy to donate, the Pier 1 cashiers will also accept cash donations at the register.  To make it even easier, if you “Like” Pier 1 Imports on Facebook during the month of November, they will donate $1 directly to Toys for Tots!

What’s your favorite holiday decoration?
