Weekend Getaway
My husband was born and raised in Kansas City. He is very much a die hard Kansas City Chiefs football fan and rarely ever has missed watching one of their games. Of course, since he moved away from KC many, many years ago, he’s had to settle for watching the games on television. We’ve lived all over the country so sometimes it was difficult to find the game being televised which is why we have subscribed to NFL Sunday Ticket for the last 11 years! Now he can rest assured he will see the game and even be able to TIVO it.
Well, this year, I was able to get tickets to this Sunday’s game, Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders, a long time rivalry and the final game of the regular season. I surprised my husband and gave him the tickets as a Christmas gift. He is so thrilled and chomping at the bit to get to the game! So, we are leaving tomorrow to head on up to Kansas City. We’re going up early so we can spend some time visiting The Plaza, a favorite shopping and dining area in Kansas City. Amazingly, after all the bad weather of the last week, this weekend’s temperatures are supposed to be in the low 40’s and sunny, so we are looking forward to the experience!
