WOW! It’s been quite a while since I’ve participated in this meme, but it’s still one of my favorites and I’m glad to be back as a part of it. So, here we go..
Four Foods on Friday is a weekly meme sponsored by Fun, Crafts and Recipes, one of m favorite blogs!
This weeks question with my answers: What are your four favorite kitchen utensils?
Well, honestly, I have to sit and thing about this for a few minutes… Okay, here we go.
1. my apple slicer
2. my OXO hand held can opener
3. my entire collection of old, but handy, wooden spoons and spatulas
4. my brand new OXO black spatula (it has no nicks or melted spots on it it!)

This post brought to you by Victor Pest. All opinions are 100% mine.
I was speaking with my mom just the other day and we got on the topic of rodents who like to live in our homes. Here in North Texas, we have squirrels who enjoy living in our attics and can be quite noisy and difficult to get rid of. My mom has to deal with the problem of mice. Her yard in Indiana backs up to a field, and, especially in the winter when she relocates herself to warmer climates, leaving the house empty, she gets mice in her garage and even in her kitchen. It’s pretty nasty when she comes home to find a few months worth of mouse droppings in her kitchen cabinets.
So, I was telling her about the ultrasonic rodent control product I found. It’s a small device that simply plugs in to an electrical outlet. The device emits a high frequency sound wave that humans or even house pets (dogs & cats) can’t hear, but rodents can. The rodents don’t like the noise and so they vacate the premises! We’ve used them in our attic and it has really helped, I figure she should give it a try and chase those mice back to the field!
I like these devices because the work, they are safe to use and cause no harm to the rodents. It just make them want to go someplace else! I need to call my mom back because I learned there is currently a special for the Victor® Protect Your Space Combo Kit for $99.99 with FREE shipping!! The kit includes (1) Victor® Sonic PestChaser® Heavy Duty Sonic, (2) Victor® Sonic Mini PestChaser® Ultrasonic Rodent Repellent, and (2) Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap. Victor is a company that specializes in rodent control and I think this just may be the answer to her mouse problem.

This is outside, the front yard and neighborhood. I know everyone has been posting pictures of the snow and I have resisted posting. We’ve been stuck indoors since Monday night due to an ice storm that blanketed North Texas. We got about 4 inches of snow last night that landed on top of the ice layer. There’s been no school for the last 4 days. I’m ready for some normalcy. So, I couldn’t resist taking this photo and sharing it, the sun has finally come out! So here it is, in all it’s glory!

This is a backpack crafted by my sister Grace. She made it for my niece’s daughter who, not surprisingly, absolutely loves it! Ii love the pink accents she used with the black & white zebra print, it really makes it pop! Grace has been so busy sewing lately, I wish she’d come to my house and help me get my motivation to sew back!

The most beautiful word
On the lips of mankind is the word
“Mother.”
The mother is everything-
she is our consolation in sorrow,
Our hope in misery,
And our strength in weakness.
She is the source of love, mercy,
Sympathy and forgiveness.
He who loses his mother,
Loses a pure soul who blesses
and Guards him constantly.
