Freschetta – Contest

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FRESCHETTA® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I received a coupon for one FRESCHETTA® By the Slice product and decided it was something I really wanted to try.  I work out of my home, so it’s iimportant for me to have good, quality products on hand for lunch for myself.  Sometimes I eat leftovers from the previous night’s dinner, and occasionally I make myself a sandwich, but I enjoy having something fresh and hot, something that makes me feel like I went out to eat like most people do for a work lunch.

Anyway, I headed to the grocery to use my coupon and was pleased to discover that FRESCHETTA® By the Slice comes in 4 different flavors:

* BBQ Recipe Chicken

* Vegetable Medley

* Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom

* Six Cheese Medley

I tried the chicken, spinach & muscroom, 3 of my favorite ingredients.  The following day, I popped my slice of pizza in the microwave and in just a couple of minutes, I was enjoying a delicious lunch.  I really enjoyed the flavor and the toppings all tasted pretty fresh.  The crust was a little bit thin in my opinion, but it still tasted good.

I know, now you’re wondering about the Contest. right?  Well, I want to share my good fortune and Freschetta wants to share their pizza with a lucky reader of my blog.  The prize?  A coupon for your very own free  FRESCHETTA® By the Slice. That’s not the only thing, the lucky winner will also receive a 6 piece Freschetta storage set which includes  a 34 oz. container, a 18.7 oz., container and a 12 oz. container, all with match silicone lids.

How to enter:

Leave a legitimate comment telling me what your favorite work day lunch is.  (legitimate means no spam and must be in a complete sentence).

One entry per email address please. (multiple entries will be deleted)

Contest will end April 30, 2011 at 11:59pm CST.

Batik

This is still one of my favorite purses. This one was made for me by my sister Karen It’s filled with pockets and I love the handles which I special ordered online. The fabric is a batik and made from a Bali Pop (2 1/2 inch strips of Batik fabric) that my sister picked up when we were at a quilt show in Paducah a couple of years ago. Don’t you think it’s pretty?!

Y-M-C-A!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.

Sing it with me (and don’t forget to stand up and do the hand motions)!  Y – M – C -A….

Seriously, YMCA has to be one of the most memorable songs from the 70’s and is still played today at parties, get togethers and sporting events.  Wouldn’t it be cool to see this song, and many more great hits from the 70’s performed live?  Now you can.

On May 13th, 2011, the Village People, along with Maxine Nightingale and Janice-Marie will be putting on a 2 hour extravaganza at the Branson Tri-Lakes Center in Branson, Missouri.  Following the show, the performers will all be available for autographs and fan photos, a rare opportunity.

Branson has so many things to offer, there’s always a good reason to go there, but it’s pretty “groovy” to go see all these stars from the 1970’s.  The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing is offering a Village People Concert Package that includes two 70’s Supershow tickets –featuring and a one-night stay for 2, starting at only $219. Before the show you can visit some great shops and restaurants at the Branson Promenade.  After the show, relax in on of the fantasticly comfortable “Serenity” beds at the Hilton.

By the way, if you’re going to Branson for any reason, Hilton is a great place to stay.  Don’t forget to also check out the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel which is connected to the Branson Convention Center.

So, tell me, what’s your favorite Village People song?

Time For a Change

Yes, once again, it is time for a change.  This time it will be the softball team my daughter has been working so hard for over the last 9 months.

She attended workouts with this team for a full 2 months, at the invitation of the coach, before he finally asked her to join the team.  She has continued to work her butt off for this coach, someone we all looked up to for his knowledge of the game.  Little did we know how much we would come to regret our decision to go with this team.  The man has become a tyrant and takes absolutely no responsibility for his own actions.  When the team wins, he is happy, but still nitpicks the girls over things they should be doing.  When they lose, he is all but uncontrollable and screams and yells at the girls.

I can’t take it any more and the last tournament they played in was the last straw.  His yelling and demeaning manner in which he talks to the girls if they make a mistake is unbearable.  Seriously, how many 12-15 year olds do you know that can play every game perfectly, no mistakes?  I can’t think of a single one.  I do know that my daughter gave 110% every time she took the field.  She can hold her head high, knowing she gave it all she had.

She will be trying out for another team on Wednesday night.  This is a team she has worked out with in the past and a team that is becoming more and more successful.  I for one am looking forward a change.

Life

Wow, I’m having a heck of a time keeping up with everything and my blogging is really seeming to take a back seat lately, for which, I apologize!

I have been working a lot more hours lately which means my work is encroaching on my free time!  I hate that!  I really, truly enjoy my free time big time!

My mom stopped by for a few days on her way from Arizona to Indiana.  It’s hard to believe it’s all ready been a week since she arrived!  We didn’t do much while she was here, lounged around a bit, spent time chatting, and went out to eat a few times.  While she was visiting, my daughter was in a softball tournament which took up most of my time.  The team played 6 games over the course of 2 days, and I spent my time shuttling back & forth between home and the ball fields.  Thankfully, this tournament was close to home, so I was able to do that.

My mom actually left for Indiana on Tuesday and I’ve been trying hard to get back on track, it just seems I can’t find a rhythm back.  Between softball and work, I’m running on fumes.  Yesterday, I only worked 2 hours and used sick time for another 2 so that I could drive an hour and a half south to watch my daughter’s high school team play in a tournament.  Tonight, she has another high school game, thankfully closer to home, tomorrow morning we’ll be on the road again for the bracket games of the tournament that began yesterday.  Then on Sunday, I’m pretty sure she will have softball practice with her travel team, and then the whole routine begins again on Monday.

It’s just not helping that at work, we just went to a whole new way of doing things and that all started today.  Of course it’s all computer run, so there were all sorts of glitches in the system today, resulting in all sorts of operator errors.  I am pretty sure everything I processed went through okay, but I’m still concerned that something may have happened that I wasn’t aware of.

Through it all, I’ve developed a nasty habit of grinding my teeth.  My jaw is now so sore and I just can’t seem to relax.

I am hoping that by typing this all out, I am getting it off my mind and maybe, sending myself on my way to a calmer state of mind.  If not, I think I may just have to get a bottle of wine out of the refrigerator!

Take care and have a GREAT weekend!  :-D
