Heading To Branson!

This post brought to you by Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am so excited!  We are really, finally, amazingly, taking a vacation!  It’s only going to be for four days, but I am thrilled that we’re actually going.  So, where are we going you ask?

We’re going to Branson!  My husband grew up in Missouri, visiting the Ozarks fairly regularly, but I’ve never been.  I’ve always heard how beautiful it is.  Branson has grown so much in recent years and has become a destination filled with activities for everyone.  Seriously, there really is just about anything you could want to do, whether is sports, outdoor adventures, shopping or entertaining shows.

We’re thinking that while we’re staying at the Hiltons of Branson we will definitely check out the shops and restaurants at The Promenade.  We’re meeting both my sisters, their husbands and my mom, so we’re thinking it might be fun to rent a pontoon boat and spend a day out on the lake.  My daughter actually has the week off from softball, but the USSSA is hosting the gilrs age 9 & 10 National Softball World Series Fastpitch Softball Championship in Branson next week, so maybe we’ll attend a game or two.

The  Hiltons of Branson are currently offering the Branson Best Value Vacation Package which includes the 3rd night of your stay for free!  Plus, besides the hotel room, the package includes wo adult and two children’s tickets to the Legends of Kung Fu show at the White House Theater in Branson, MO, two adult and two children’s two-day passes to Silver Dollar City®, a $25 gift card for shopping, and a $25 food credit for Level 2 Steakhouse.

So, I’ll be away from my blog for a few days, we actually have a weekend of softball south of Dallas this weekend.  We’ll get home and head to Branson the very next morning. I can’t wait!!  I’ll be sure to post photos when we get back.  ::-)

Finally Got My Sewing Table

The local Joanns is remodeling and, by default, so is the Viking Sewing Center located inside Joanns. Thankfully, I’m on the Viking email list and was notified that they were selling all the sewing tables that showcase their sewing machines, in order to make room for their new tables they are receiving as a result of the remodel. I jumped at the chance to FINALLY have my very own, real, sewing table!

You see, for the last several years, I’ve been using a computer hutch to sew on. It works fine and I love all the extra storage, but, there is no extra width to the table part where my sewing machine actually sits. This makes it difficult to manage fabric that overhangs on the left side of my machine. When I work on a larger project, I’ve been known to move my sewing machine to a folding table to get extra width, the problem being that the folding table shakes too much if I do any speedy sewing (my machine is capable of going pretty fast).

Now, I have a real sewing table and it’s 6 feet long. It has a shelf underneath (more storage), and 2 small drawers, great for bobbin and thread storage. It will also allow me to not only have my sewing machine on the table, but also my serger. I am so excited! Sorry the photo is a little blurry, I took it with my phone.

Out With the Old

This post brought to you by uSell. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s been about a month now that I’ve had my new iPhone.  Of  course, I don’t have a clue what to do with my old phone, which is still working, I just wanted to update!  So, my old phone is laying in what seems to be its new semi-permanent position on my desk.  Next thing I knew, my daughter had added her old phone to mine, making it the old phone pile.

Thank goodness for the internet!  Now it’s so easy to get  Cash for Your Cell Phones and Electronics.  uSell will put a seller in contact with a buyer, someone looking for the exact electronic device or cell phone that the seller is selling.  The buyer then purchases direct from the seller so it’s less hassle, gets the seller fast payment and ensures the product will either be reused or recycled, depending on its condition.  In other words, it’s not only good for buyers and sellers, but it’s also good for the environment.

uSell is safe, secure and offers a 100% Max Cash guarantee.  For me personally, it will help me clean off my desk!  Oh, and did I mention I have a box full of old cell phones in the garage, not to mention several unused mp3 players that need to find a new home!

In Need of More Toys

plinko

Not sure why, but I think she’s looking at me as if to tell me she doesn’t have enough toys! She took these toys out of her basket and piled them at my feet. She really didn’t feel like playing, so maybe she was telling me to go shopping for more?! of course, I do find it difficult to say no to that face. :-D

Happy 4th of July!

jello

I got into the spirit of the holiday and made this fun jello. I used a mold in the shape of the flag which I received free from Pillsbury. This was a lot of fun and tasted good too! The blue layer is Berry Blast blue Jello, the middle is lemon Jello combined with Cool Whip, and the top is Cherry flavored Jello. I added the blueberries and whip cream for decoration.
