Heat

posted in home |

Living in North Texas, we become accustomed to the heat. In fact, we had more days with temperatures of 100 or more this year than any other year in recorded history. So, it is with trepidation that I woke up this morning and realized I was going to actually have to turn the heater on in the house. After running the a/c units pretty much none stop for almost 7 months straight, having about 1 week with no a/c running, and this morning, waking up to outside temperatures in the 30’s, our family room thermostat was screaming at me to turn on the heater! So, I did.

This is what I woke up to this morning:

The house is not at a comfortable 67.  Yes, we still need to dress warmly, but at least our teeth aren’t chattering!

That’s what the temps were at my place outside this morning. My place actually holds heat fairly well which is a curse during the summer but I’ve had my heater “on” for a couple weeks, it just hasn’t kicked in yet as I keep the temp at 68. It is supposed to drop down into the 30s tonight so maybe it will kick in.

Our family back home is further south than y’all, and I know they were complaining it was supposed to be 48 tonight! The furnaces are getting a workout for a change!
