After months of not sewing, I’m finally feeling a sense of inspiration. Not at all sure where it came from, but in my fabric stash, I have several yards of Breast Cancer Awareness fabric and I’ve decided to make a lap quilt using those fabrics. I plan to donate the finished quilt to the high school softball team’s Pink Night where they do silent auctions to raise money for the Susan G Komen Foundation. I think the fact that I have a deadline ahead will keep me on track!
I pulled out the fabric yesterday and was laying in out to see what all I have. Of course, that’s when our baby decided she had to be a participant, plopped down and stuck under nose under all the fabric and fell asleep. The sound of me turning my camera on is the only reason she opened her eyes!

This post brought to you by Puppies vs. Babies. All opinions are 100% mine.
Well, technically it the Puppies vs. Babies contest, but, as much as I think babies are cute, puppies are undoubtedly cuter in my humble opinion! I mean really, have you EVER seen an ugly puppy?!
The Puppies vs. Babies online contest by Animal Planet let’s you be the judge, you get to decide which is cuter, puppies or babies. Now, I must warn you , when you visit the contest website you are going to see tons of cute babies and even more cute puppies (because all puppies are cute!). So be prepared, you are going to have a tough decision to make before casting your vote! The prize to the winning puppy or baby is $5,000!
I still remember the 1st time we saw our little puppy. We met the breeder at a roadside rest stop that happened to be half way between her home in Oklahoma and our home in Texas. The breeder set the little dog carrier down in the grass and opened the door. This tan colored pudgy little think with a short stubby tail came slowly out the door and stepped tentatively on the grass. The breeder explained it was the first time the little one had ever touched grass!

Well, next thing we knew, that adorable little puppy saw my daughter and bounded directly to her and they’ve been best friends ever since!
Since that day, she of course grew, but she’s still adorable with her soft & floppy beagle ears and her curly pug tail, yes, she’s a puggle. She and my daughter are still best friends and both are probably way too spoiled!
Anyway, be sure to submit your own photo and don’t forget to cast your vote by November 23. Let me know what you think and I’m curious, who’d you vote for?

This post brought to you by Hills Pet Nutrition. All opinions are 100% mine.
At our dog’s last vet checkup, she had actually managed to lose a couple of pounds! This was great news because we’d struggled to get her to lose any weight at all. She’s pretty active, but truth be told, we should be taking her for walks and playing with her more than we have been lately. Then maybe the weight loss wouldn’t be as difficult for her.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition is hosting the Hill’s Healthy Mobility Challenge. Overweight dogs, especially as they get older, can have difficulty with their mobility which would make me feel guilty to know that my dog isn’t as healthy & happy as she could possibly be. With cooler weather finally coming to Texas, she won’t be getting in the pool and swimming which is one of the primary ways she managed to lose those couple pounds this summer. It’s important for her that we find other ways to keep her active and healthy.
By registering for the Hill’s Healthy Mobility Challenge, we can receive $30 in Hill’s Healthy Mobility Coupon offers plus be entered into the Sweepstakes where 30 lucky winners will receive free pet food for an entire year!
You can track your dog’s progress and then go back to share your success story. Don’t forget that you can also check out Hill’s Pet Nutrition on Facebook.
Seriously, we want to keep this little baby around as long as we can!

Not sure why, but I think she’s looking at me as if to tell me she doesn’t have enough toys! She took these toys out of her basket and piled them at my feet. She really didn’t feel like playing, so maybe she was telling me to go shopping for more?! of course, I do find it difficult to say no to that face.

Today’s the day our baby turns 4! I can’t believe it, on the one hand, we still think of her as that cute little puppy we brought home, all full of energy and love. On the other hand, we see her with not quite as much energy, a lot heavier, but just as cute and full of love. Happy Birthday Plinko, we love you!
