This quilt block was sewn together by my mom, Myrna. If I remember correctly, there will be a total of 9 appliqued blocks which will come together to create one of the most beautiful quilts. The applique is all pieced and stitched by hand and mom is doing a beautiful job, don’t you think?! She gives away most of her quilts, but this one she is making for herself and will display it proudly in her own home.

I’m pretty proud of my latest project. Not only did I complete this in a timely fashion, but I created it entirely from leftover fabrics and scraps that I all ready had in my stash. You see, after finishing my Countdown to Christmas, I had fabric remaining that I wanted to use, so I found this cute wall hanging to make. The quilt block itself is pretty simple, it’s the applique that takes quite a bit of time. There were quite a few pieces to cut draw, cut out and assemble. Once the pieces were all ironed onto the block, I had to do a blanket stitch (on my machine) around each and every piece. Then it came down to completing the block, attaching the backing, batting and loops and then quilting it, which I also did on my machine.
This is my latest completed project, a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
