WOW! I all ready feel blessed and the New Year has only just begun. I learned today that I have been awarded the Lemonade Award, not by one, but by two very talented bloggers. I am happy beyond words and want to say thank you to both Lisa at
New York Chica and the
Unbalanced Libra, thank you ladies!
Here are the rules for this award:
* Display the award on your blog or your post.
* Nominate 10 blogs that have great Attitude, and or Gratitude.
* Link your nominees.
* Leave a comment on your nominees blogs, so they know what’s happening.
* And as always link back to the blog who give you the award.
As I recently received this award and posted about it here, I am going to leave it at thank you and not do any nominations, although, I do know that there are so many more blogs who all show great Attitude and/or Gratitude.

Before I left this morning, I spent time on my computer writing a blog post. I then headed out the door and drove to my new job where I spent 5 hours in a training class typing information onto a keyboard. Now I’m home and needing to write more, but I have to tell you, my eyes are tired and I’m tired of sitting in a chair, I’d really like to stand up and move around. I recently read an article that might have the answer to my problem.
A NY Times Review of DNS10 told me about an exciting software program that uses voice recognition to type your words for you. In other words, Dragon Naturally Speaking software, rather than using my hands to type, I would be able to use my voice to speak the words and punctuation and the software writes the text for me.
Take a look at this video to see what I’m talking about.
Now, I learned to type when I took a typing class in college and I’m pretty good at it. I don’t know that they offer typing classes any longer and I think that many people no longer have good typing skills. The
Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Preferred, as talked about in the video, or the
Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Standard would both be excellent options for any blogger.
Seriously, think about it. If I can type 75 words per minute (or better on some days), but can speak 150 words per minute, I’m going to save myself a lot of time by speaking and letting the software do the typing for me. Plus, I could stand up and speak when I’m needing a stretch break, it would give me more mobility. In addition, my blog content is going to have a more natural sound to it because what I’m speaking, is being written (typed). Better content leads to higher traffic and higher traffic is what most bloggers are shooting for, isn’t it?

I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to get a note from Lora at Lora’s Journal letting me know that she had bestowed this lovely award on my blog. I was also nominated for this award by Chris at Lone Black Spider as well as Donna at The Domestic Life. I am so appreciative and speechless that not just one, but 3 fellow bloggers chose me and my blog!
Here is how this award works:
1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog;
2. Link the person you received your award from;
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs;
4. Put links of those blogs on yours; and
5. Leave a message on the blogs that you’ve nominated.
Note: The rules are somewhat different at The Domestic Life, so if you are curious, click on over from the above link.
Now, I realize I’m supposed to nominate at least 7 other blogs for this award. The problem here is that most every blog I visit has all ready received this award, so, although I am not nominating 7, I do have a few that deserve this.
After the Dust Settles
Work at Home Mom Revolution
Health Nut Wannabee Mom
Designing Hilary
and, finally, not only because she is my sister and I love her, but I do love her blog too,
Winding Threads
If you haven’t yet received this award and I failed to mention you, drop me a comment and I’d be happy to add you to my list! I have two slots still available!

It is official. I attended my job orientation yesterday and I will begin a 7 week training program on Monday. Before I do though, I want to send out a big THANK YOU to the blogger who helped me find this job.
I was dropping Entrecards and, as I do everyday, I visited a particular blog that is, according to her tagline, “A blog for moms who want to work from home”. I visit this particular blog almost every day and have always read her posts with great interest. A week and a half ago, as I was visiting this blog, I read a post that felt as if it were aimed directly at me. The job opportunity was a part time position with a major corporation, know world wide, that would allow me to work day time hours from home and the company would provide all the training, paid. The job also happened to be located right here in the Dallas area.
After thinking it over for a couple of days, I submitted my application online and received an email the very next day asking me to come in for testing and an interview. On Monday of this week, exactly one week after first reading about the position, I was hired.
I am spending today and tomorrow getting my home office set up to meet the job requirements, but I wanted to make sure to take the time to send a big thank you to Lisa at Work at Home Mom Revolution for the wonderful job she does with her blog. Without realizing it, she is touching lives and helping people find ways to do what they enjoy and do it at home. So, Lisa, I thank you!
