I am honored to have the I Love Your Blog Award bestowed upon this site so graciously by Laura at Laura’s Daily Life.
Laura has such a great site, reviewing items for parenting and kids as well as talking about her life as a mom. I always find something useful to read, as in her most recent post Eat This, Not That! and enjoyable photos of her kids. A great blogging friend to have and a great site to read, so be sure to take a look.
Thank you Laura, it was very kind of you.

I want to apologize to all of my readers and Entrecard visitors. I have been on the road for the past 8 days and had little to no internet access. I spent the last 5 days in a cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN the had no internet connections. I was so busy with selling my sewing projects in Knoxville and seeing the sites, I wasn’t able to get to a place that might have internet connections.
I had planned on being home on Tuesday (tomorrow), however, due to a sudden death in the family on my husband’s side, I am now heading towards the Atlanta area for a funeral, a very sad way to end what has otherwise been a fun and rewarding trip.
I miss my blog and connecting with all of you. I should be home sometime over the coming weekend, I hope!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to The Sewing Mom, Happy Birthday to me!
That’s right, this blog has just celebrated its first birthday! Of course, it’s been so busy around here, I completely missed it, so this is actually a belated Happy Birthday! I created my very first measly post on July 3 of last year. I feel that I’ve come a long way since then.

I am very touched that Jolene at
My Absent Mind as well as Jean at
Lapidary Queen Wannabees have bestowed the Are y Pico Award on me and my blog.
I “met” Jolene and her blog thanks to Entrecard and try to visit her site every day. Just the title of her blog describes me perfectly! I am honored to know that she enjoys reading my blog and seeing my creations. While I blog for myself, it’s always wonderful to know that others are enjoying what I have to “show and tell”. Thank you very much Jolene!
I also “met” Jean through Entrecard (I am so addicted to EC and am so happy I’ve found so many wonderful bloggers) and love seeing her jewelry designs. She showcases her work and design ability and sells her creations directly on her site. I can learn a lot from this woman! Thank you Jean!
This award was created to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creativity and their talents, also for contributing to the blogging world in whatever medium. When you receive this award it is considered a “special honor”. Once you have received this award, you are to pass it on to 5 others. What a wonderful way to show some love and appreciation to your fellow bloggers!!!
The rules for passing this honor on are:
1) Pick 5 blogs that you would like to award this honor to. (This is the hard part–there are just so many good ones around it is very difficult to choose just five.)
2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award. Click Here to visit the Arte y Pico blog.
I previously received this wonderful award and so will not be tagging anyone else. I did want to thank the above bloggers and acknowledge the award. Thank you again.

I am so honored and touched to have received this award. This award is given for sharing beauty, love and joy. It means so much to me that not only one, but two fellow bloggers found it in their hearts to bestow this award on my blog. The first is Maitri of
Magic & Moments at Dragonfly Cottage. Her kind words about my site and my creativity were so sweet. I am happy to try at least to bring a little sunshine into the blogosphere. Second to send this wonderful award my way was Lady Rose of the
Diet Pulpit had such nice words about my sewing creations. I’m so glad to know others enjoy seeing what I make as much as I enjoy sharing photos of my work.
I need to choose 5 other bloggers to share this award with and this will be difficult. I’ve come to admire so many bloggers, my list of favorites is too long to mention. I am forced to only choose 5 and I will try to choose those who have not all ready received this award. The 5 I choose are in random order and I thank all of them for inspiring me.
Kim – Simply Crafting shows us what beautiful, hand crafted jewelry can look like. She has been working so very hard recently to prepare enough jewelry for an upcoming show/sale. I wish her all the best and success.
Lynn -When the Dust Settles shows us how an at home business can work right along side of family life. Of course, having a mudslide now and then helps too! Lynn makes some really cute ceramic piggy banks with super cute paint styles. My favorite is the watermelon piggy! She also makes other personalized ceramic items so be sure to check out her blog and shop.
Ellen – All In A Day While Ellen has been extremely busy with work lately and hasn’t had much spare time to show her creative side, we’re all hoping that will change very soon. She has a real talent for knitting and sewing and has given me the inspiration to open my own Etsy shop.
Charlotte – Charlotte’s Tips shows day to day living tips, whether it’s how to deal with rude people in the grocery store or cooking and cleaning tips, this is a great blog. I’d love to go have a cup of coffee with this blogger.
Heidi – Health Nut Wannabee Mom is inspiring me to live a healthier life. She has super simple advice to lead a healthier life everyday. I like knowing I don’t have to go out and buy expensive exercise equipment or exotic foods to eat in order to live healthy. I can use things I all ready have and eat foods I all ready enjoy.
I want to thank all of these ladies for being such inspirations to me. I hope others find them just as inspiring.
