Help a Child

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Cryo-Cell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve spoken on this subject in the past, but Cryo-Cell has come up with a very special offer that I feel is worth mentioning.

First of all, if you don’t all ready know, Cryo-Cell is a service that offers to store cord-blood. Cord blood, or umbilical cord blood, is blood that remains in the umbilical cord and placenta at the time of birth. Cord blood is typically discarded after childbirth, but there are benefits to keeping it for future potential use. Stem cells taken from your own baby’s cord blood can be preserved and used if needed as your child gets older. Think about it, if your child needs a transfusion due to serious illness, wouldn’t you feel great knowing you all ready had their own blood cells stored too help bump up their own immune system? Scientists have discovered that cord blood is a valuable source of stem cells. It can be and has been used as a substitute for bone marrow in transplant situations. Learn more about Cryo-Cell by visiting their website.

enroll now with Cryo-Cell and they will donate $25 from each enrollment to the “Save the Children: Haiti Relief Fund”. So, enroll to store cord-blood for your child’s future and, at the same time, your enrollment will provide help to the children of Haiti. That sounds like a win-win scenario to me.

Mother’s Day Gifts

I’ve been racking my brain trying to come up with a nice Mother’s Day gift for my mother-in-law.  She lives on her own, 1500 miles away and is on a small fixed income.  She doesn’t drive and I don’t want to give her cash as she will just give it away.  I am thinking about possibly a restaurant gift certificate, but I don’t even know what restaurants are within walking distance of her.  My husband thinks she would enjoy a gift certificate that would allow her to take a friend or two out for lunch, something she enjoys doing but can’t really afford.

All this thinking about Mother’s Day gifts reminded me of my own personal favorite gift that my daughter gave me a few years ago.  She made my gift while she was in kindergarten and it’s a ceramic print of her little hand.  The teacher wrote the date on the back and I really cherish it.  I see it everyday and it warms my heart.  I love that something so very simple is so meaningful.  I would love to receive a gift like that every single year!

I was at the store yesterday purchasing Mother’s Day cards and really wanted to get one for my daughter-in-law, I just couldn’t find one that I liked.  This isn’t her first Mother’s Day to celebrate, I just know how much it means to her to be a mom and thought it would be nice to send her a card.  I’ve also wondered if she’s ever considered Cryo-Cell U-Cord or if she would consider it the next time she has a baby. Cryo-Cell preserves a newborn’s umbilical cord blood for potential use against many diseases that the child could get in the future, including common diseases like diabetes. Cryo-Cell could really be a great gift for any new mom, possibly even a Mother’s Day gift.

So, what are you doing for Mother’s Day?

Protecting Our Children

These are my two babies and I go out of my way to make them feel safe, secure and loved. They’re both spoiled rotten (at least I think so), and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I also want to make sure my babies are healthy. From the time I became pregnant, I’ve always wanted to protect my daughter. You know, since my daughter was a baby, it has always broken my heart when she’s been sick. I know it’s normal for kids to get colds, etc., but, as a parent, there are some times wen I can feel so helpless. I really hate that feeling. I have to admit though, I feel very fortunate that my daughter has never had any major illness.

If you are pregnant, you might want to consider Cryo-Cell for preserving your newborn’s umbilical cord blood for potential use against many diseases. Current research is being conducted on the use of stem cells for the treatment of cardiac and neurological diseases as well as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leukemia, and sickle cell disease to name a few. Had I known about this service when my daughter was born, I certainly would have considered it.

Take note, if you choose to enroll by the end of today, you could receive a free Baby Bjorn and there is even special pricing to help with those of us on a budget.

The following is a Cryo-Cell client testimonial.

“My children are the most precious gifts that I will ever have and I want to do everything I can to make sure they are well. While I was pregnant with my first child, I would see articles and ads about cord blood and it bothered me that it was so expensive but what if I one day needed this blood. The reality of having only one chance or it really went in the garbage kept me wondering if I would regret not investing. What if he had cancer or his dad or I were sick, would that blood have been the cure? Through research, I came across Cryo-Cell International, Inc., a company with the most reasonable rates and the assurance of two holding facilities.

When I was pregnant with my second child, we wondered if one bank was enough? Finances were tighter and should we spend the money? Then we realized that his brothers blood might not match for the new baby. The next day, stories were breaking about how Cord blood had saved or changed the lives of children, one cancer, one cerebral palsy. Then we discovered that a friend was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. He didn’t bank his daughters blood and wished he had. Three years prior, I lost a friend to renal cancer when she was 29. We felt like it was our answer.

We are just beginning to see miracles that this blood can bring. We have two “life insurance policies”, that is how we look at it. If anyone in the family gets ill, there is a chance that the blood could save our lives. If we don’t use it, then it is there for our son’s children.”

Sincerely,
mother of Parker and Davis

Last Minute Holiday Shopping

My daughter and I just returned from some very last minute holiday shopping for my husband who is the most difficult person I know to buy gifts for. Anything he could ever want he either buys for himself or it’s so expensive I can’t afford it. Maybe that’s typical for men, I’m not sure. I saw a quite a few people out doing their last minute shopping, I wonder what they were buying and who they were buying it for.

I do have a suggestion for anyone still trying to find something for someone that someone special, especially if that special someone is expecting a child, this would be a great gift and an investment in the future. Through midnight of December 24, Cryo-Cell is offering a $725 discount off of their regular U-Cord processing, testing and first year of stem cell storage, making the package only $995.

Stem cells are taken from the umbilical cord of a newborn baby, nothing is done to harm the baby or mother. The stem cells can then be stored for future use in fighting a number of diseases, over 70 in fact, or perhaps even used in a transplant procedure. This is a gift that can help ensure the future health of a child, a worthwhile investment.

To take advantage of this Cryo-Cell special offer, simply enroll online and use promotional code D995. Remember, the offer expires at midnight, 12/24.

Supporting Breast Cancer Research

As many of you all ready know, I am a friend of several people who have had to battle breast cancer and, therefore, I’m also a supporter of breast cancer research. There are of course, many ways to support breast cancer research and I have chosen to make monetary donations to a few select organizations and support individuals who do things like 3-day walks.

Cryo-Cell has recently partnered with the National Institutes of Health to perform research the potential treatment of breast cancer using stem cells collected from menstrual blood. This is exploratory research to determine if stem cells collected from menstrual blood can be used in the potential treatment of breast cancer. The research will use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to track stem cells. The ability to use MRI to monitor the journey of menstrual blood stem cells in the body holds great promise in the utilization of menstrual stem cells in the future of treating diseases.

Cryo-Cell, America’s most established cord blood bank,  is committed to excellent customer service with highly trained customer service consultants available 24/7.   There are certainly many reasons to consider storing cord blood, and now, with Cyro-Cell’s partnership with the NIH, their research using stem cells easily collected during the menstrual cycle, could be a huge step forward for breast cancer research.
