Not So Wordless Wednesday – Stitched Together

3 amigos

Last week was my mom’s birthday! My 2 sisters and their families were able to help her celebrate and spent the long weekend together doing just that. While they were together, they managed to do some fabric shopping at one of my favorite quilt shops and they also had their sewing machines out long enough to create these pieced table toppers or wall hangings. I sure do wish I could’ve been there too!

My Family and Their Creations

family of quilters
I showed you the completed quilted Christmas tabletopper that my mom made and then gave to me so I thought I’d show you my sisters and mom with their creations. A few months ago they were all together and created table toppers. This picture shows (left to right) my mom Myrna and my sisters Karen and Grace, all with the toppers they each made before the backs and bindings were attached and before they were quilted.

We all live in different states, although my my summers in the same town as Karen, so it’s difficult for us to always get together. When we do though, we tend to bring our sewing machines and try to work on some project together. We all love fabric and pretty quilts, so it’s only natural that this is how we spend our time together. I only wish we could do it more often!

Expecting Company

I’ll be in and out today and over the next few days..  Please leave comments, I love to hear from you.  I will respond at some point.

My daughter-in-law, her husband and their baby are arriving this evening from California for a visit.  They’ll only be here through the weekend, but I want it to be an enjoyable and relaxing time for all of us, a chance to visit.  I’m getting the house in order, mainly cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming.  Thankfully, most of the house was cleaned this past weekend, so I don’t have too much left to do.

I did go grocery shopping this morning and got some ribs in the crock pot for our dinner tonight.  We’ll eat before we head to the airport to pick them up.  I’m very excited to see them and I know my husband can’t wait for them to arrive.  I have a feeling that the next few days are going to fly by!
