Four Foods on Friday #114

A simple Four Foods on Friday meme to kick off the weekend!

This week’s questions and my answers:

* Who makes the best hamburger/cheeseburger? I like the burgers from JC’s Burgerhouse, but we have a new joint in town called Mooyah and they do a pretty darn good job too!

* Who makes the best french fries? McDonalds

* Who makes the best shake? Steak & Shake

* Who makes the best chicken? That one is tough, I liked the KFC in Illinois, but can’t stand the one here. I tend to go to Chicken Express now.

Four Foods on Friday #113

This week’s meme was actually for last week, but since I didn’t participate last week, I’m doing it now. I figure, better late than never! :-D

If you would like to participate in Four Foods on Friday just clink the link and leave val a comment after you’ve created your own post!

This week’s question is very simple:

What can you make with eggs, meat or poultry, vegetables and a starch?

Well, I’m thinking one of the quick meals from Bisquick. This is the recipe for Impossible Chicken Pot Pie.

1 2/3 cups frozen mixed vegetables
1 cup cut-up cooked chicken
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/2 cup milk
1 egg

1.
Heat oven to 400ºF. Mix vegetables, chicken and soup in ungreased glass pie plate, 9×1 1/4 inches.
2.
Stir together remaining ingredients with fork until blended. Pour into pie plate.
3.
Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown.

I love the Bisquick recipes, they’re so simple, quick and taste good!

Four Foods on Friday #112

WOW! I can’t believe it! I am finally getting to post my favorite meme, Four Foods on Friday. I feel like the last month has been so hectic that I’ve barely had time to breath and my posts have been somewhat sparse. This morning I sit here enjoying my one day off this week and enjoying one of my favorite blogs and her meme. This week there is only one question and if you’d like to participate, drop by >Fun, Crafts and Recipes and leave a comment.

From Val's Kitchen

What can you make with meat or poultry, rice, cheese and a vegetable?

1 cup white rice
3/4 cup water
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup fresh broccoli florets

Mix ingredients in an oblong dish and sprinkle with paprika. Place skinless boneless chicken breasts on top. Sprinkle chicken with paprika. Bake in 375 degree oven for 35 minutes. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and bake an additional 10 minutes.

Four Foods on Friday – What’s on the Counter?

From Val's Kitchen

WOOHOO! It’s Friday (almost!)!! I am really celebrating because Friday is my final day of having to drive in for my training class. I get to go back to working from home starting Monday. While I will definitely miss the personal interaction, I won’t miss the commute and the expenses connected to commuting. My life will start feeling more like normal again and it will free up more of my time.

To celebrate, I’m getting back to something very normal for me, my favorite meme. If you want to participate in < a href="http://funcraftsandrecipes.com/index.php/2010/four-foods-on-friday-107/" target="_blank">Four Foods on Friday, feel free and be sure to visit Val and leave her a comment!

This weeks questions:

1. Name two items on your kitchen counter. Coffee maker and toaster

2. What’s in your sink now? Something I hate, dirty dishes. (I haven’t had time to unload the dishwasher so I can reload it!)

3. What’s on your stove now? A teapot.

4. What’s in your oven now? Not a thing!

Four Foods on Friday – #106

From Val's Kitchen

Visit Fun, Crafts and Recipes if you’d like to participate in this fun weekly meme!

This week there is just one simple question, What are four spices you must have in the house?

  1. I have to have salt. I use it in just about everything I cook, although I don’t normally sprinkle it on food that I’ve all ready made.
  2. Garlic salt. This is another spice I use in just about everything I cook.
  3. Slap Yo Mama cajun spice.  This is a new favorite.  The whole family loves it on fish, chicken and even in soups!  Make sure you have water on hand to drink.
  4. Celery salt, I love this in soups.
