The elections are over and the country now seems to be looking forward to “change”. No matter which way you voted, I think everyone believes our country needs to see some sort of changes made. Our economy has been spiraling downward and the housing market is on the decline around most of the country. Personally, we’ve seen our retirement savings evaporate and the value of our home go down. We are definitely anxious about what the future holds.
With the stock market the way it is right now, it’s a scary time to invest any money and yet, the economy really needs money to be pumped into it in order for it to start its recovery. Rebuilding of America might be just what we need to help get us all back on track. With just $25, which is less than the cost of a dinner out, everyday people just like us can make a safe, FDIC insured investment that will help rebuild our communities.
Each and every $25 investment will be put together and the funds will then be used to get construction loans back enabling the construction, jobs and completion of very worthwhile projects that lost funding. Besides rebuilding, this investment has a goal to provide maximum return on investment. The investment in FDIC insured certificate of deposits, what could be safer than that? If you’re interested, and have a desire to be socially responsible, be sure to check it out.

Monitoring your mutual funds and stock investments, how do you do it?
My husband and I both have mutual funds as part of retirement savings. We have owned shares in many different funds over the 20+ years we’ve been together, but we’ve never purchased or bought into a fund or individual stocks without having a financial advisor. I would never presume to be an expert on making my own Stock Picks anymore than I would pick my own mutual funds. Mutual fund can be even more difficult to keep up with than individual stocks simply because they are made up of multiple stocks.

I can use TheBuyList.com to see which mutual funds have bought or sold any particular stocks. I can also get specific analytics such as buy/sell percentages of any particular stock. I can let them do all the difficult research and I can reap the rewards. If I want to buy specific stocks instead of mutual funds, I can see what stock are being bought and sold by the mutual funds and follow their lead, if I so choose.
Investing wisely is very important to me. In the early days of our marriage, investments in mutual funds and their proceeds, allowed us to purchase our first home. In subsequent years, we’ve been able to use our mutual fund earnings to live on when we’ve needed to. Currently, knowing we have good investments and a plan for our future allows me to stay home and work on my own dream, sewing creatively for a living. In our future, we hope to use our earnings from our current mutual fund investments to live on in our retirement. Using the right resources for investment research leads to wise investments.
