Hell’s Kitchen in Kissimmee

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Kissimmee Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you ever been to Kissimmee, Florida? I have, but it’s been more than 30 years ago! That makes me feel so old! I can’t believe it’s been that long ago and I have such great memories of that trip. It was right after high school graduation, some friends and I drove from Texas to Kissimmee to celebrate before heading off to college. We had so much fun and I remember the area being so beautiful with tons of things to do.

I was just checking out the Kissimmee website and discovered that one of our favorite t.v. shows, Hell’s Kitchen, is being taped in Kissimmee and, there are a couple of tapings that we could make reservations for, one in July and one in August. That would be so cool! My husband always wonders how the guests are treated and how they can handle waiting up to 2 hours to get their food after they’ve ordered (or over 4 hours on last week’s show!). It always amazes me that the diners can hear all the yelling and screaming going on in the kitchen and I always wonder how much of it is an act and how much is real. And, we all wonder how good the food really is! I think it would be a blast to go, don’t you?

Of course, Kissimmee is close enough to Orlando that it also offers theme parks (Disney, Universal & Seaworld), plus numerous water parks, shopping and dining options. Central Florida also offers a ton of lakes and streams worth exploring too. What about you, what would be your favorite activity in Kissimmee?

Vacation Giveaway!

I just returned from what I call a “mini” vacation. I spent 5 days (including travel days) in Paducah at the National Quilt Show and visiting my sisters and mom. We had the trip planned for months, paid for our hotel and airfare in advance, and had to budget for meals and all of our fabric purchases. Let me tell you, even a “mini” vacation can be expensive, so, the thought of a FREE full size vacation is extremely appealing! Yes, you read correctly, a FREE vacation!

Kissimmee, Florida is having a vacation giveaway and the prizes include three (3) weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two (2); and two (2) week long vacations for four (4). Besides winning a free trip, there are also free things to do while visiting Kissimmee, including car shows in Old Town, and the car show includes live entertainment. While in Kissimmee, why not visit the historic Courthouse, the oldest courthouse in continuous use in the State of Florida or visit the Kissimmee Sculpture Experience. Personally, I’d love to go bird watching at any one of these parks: Lake Lizzie Nature Preserve, the Osceola County Environmental Center, and in the Wildlife Management Areas of Bull Creek, Prairie Lakes, Three Lakes, and Triple N Ranch—all Great Florida Birding Trail sites. Birds that can be seen could be anything from Whooping Cranes to Bald Eagles, all beautiful and awe inspiring.

I’m definitely entering to win, and there is a drawing on or around 5/1/09 and 6/1/09 and you might want to enter the Kissimmee sweepstakes yourself.

Kissimmee is Free!

With the economy hitting our household the way it has, taking a vacation anywhere anytime soon seems to be about as realistic as me traveling to the moon. I am going to a quilt show in a few weeks, but I paid for my hotel months ago and I used air miles to get a free airline ticket, so it has stayed within the budget. There are so many places I would love to go, if only I could afford to go.

Then again, I just discovered that are are a ton of free things to do in Kissimmee, Florida and, Kissimmee is even having a sweepstakes that is free to enter and has fantastic prizes. In fact, Kissimmee is giving away three (3) weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two (2); and two (2) weeklong vacations for four (4). Drawings will be held on or around 4/1/09, 5/1/09 and 6/1/09.

Besides the sweepstakes, there are all kinds of other free things to be had in Kissimmee, from free nights at area hotels to free food at area restaurants. My favorite is the free makeover being offered by Belk at The Loop. I’d love to do that! After a makeover I would love to take a bottle of wine and sit and relax out by the water. Of course, I might need a total day of relaxation after spending an entire day at Disney World!

Of course, I’ve all ready entered the Freedom to Enjoy Kissimmee Sweepstakes, but if you’d also like to enter, click on the link above.
