Tackle It Tuesday – My New Label Maker

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
I have been so excited to share this and I haven’t had time to write this post! So, I’ve spent this evening uploading my pictures and I’m going to share my news.

fedex packageA while back I had entered a contest sponsored by Parent Reviewers and Dymo, manufacturer of some of the best label makers I’ve ever had the privilege to use. Then, just before Christmas, I received notice that I had WON! I was thrilled beyond words. Since we moved almost 2 years ago, I’ve been unable to locate our label maker and having one is such a great organizational tool, not to mention how handy a label maker is for assisting with school projects. Not long after that, I came home to find a package at my front door.  I wanted to rip it open right away, but I did pause just long enough for my daughter to snap a quick photo.  I knew I would be wanting to write about this very special occasion!

At first, I couldn’t think of anything I had ordered so was surprised to see the package. Then, my surprise turned intoDymo Label Maker delight when I realized that my brand new, shiny, super easy to use Dymo LetraTag Personal Labelmaker was inside. I ripped open the package and was even more thrilled when I realized that they had also included 7 additional rolls of label maker tape in a variety of colors, including a magnetic tape, plus AA batteries. How cool is that?!

It drives me nuts when I’m looking for the camera cord and can’t figure out what cord goes to which electronic device. I’m going to feel so much better when everything is organized and labeled! WOOHOO! I do feel like a winner!

Organizing Tips for School and Home

I want one of these babies so bad! Pictured are 3 of the DYMO Labelmakers and I would love to have any of the 3. There are so many uses for a label maker, it would be a valuable asset in this house.

First of all, my daughter could use a label maker for school. It would have made her life so much easier had she been able to simply print out name labels for all of her school supplies, binders and folders. And, because the state of Texas requires that all school text books have book covers on them, labeling the outside of the covers would make finding the right text book, in a locker crammed full of books, a snap.

As for using a label maker at home, the question is, what can’t you label? Living in Texas, I have to keep all of my pantry foods in airtight containers to keep the bugs out. That means all of my dry goods like pancake mix, flour, sugar and cereals are in sealed containers. It would make my life so much easier if I could just slap a label on the outside of the container so I would always know what’s inside. It would also help my husband out because he never knows what I’ve put into which container.

My husband could also use the label maker for labeling all the DVD’s and CD’s he burns. How about all those boxes stacked on shelves in the closet. Wouldn’t it be nice to have them labeled so you don’t have to take them down just to see what’s in them? What a time saver!

We used to have a label maker, but, since we relocated, we haven’t seen it. I really miss it and need a new one!
