I was in such a funk before Thanksgiving, I didn’t want to sew or do anything else. I felt like I had to be dragged to the airport to go on our holiday to California, but you know what? I feel really rejuvinated after that trip and I’m thinking that maybe we need to take another holiday vacation!
When you really start thinking about places to go, there are endless possibilities. Since we just returned from California, I was sort of thinking it might be fun to go the other direction, maybe a Jersey Shore beach Vacation . Now, I know what you’re thinking, beaches in New Jersey? Why not? After all, Morey’s Piers, is currently offering its annual holiday sale that runs through January 9, 2009, and it is top New Jersey attractions, so why not the New Jersey shore? It’s very easy to visit the website of Morey’s Piers to find accommodations too. Besides great accommodations, there is the Wildwood Amusement Park as well as shops and attractions on the boardwalk, the largest boardwalk in America by the way! It’s a great family area, plenty to do like bike rentals and shows. Once we’ve worked up an appetite, we can visit any of a number of restaurants.
The Morey’s Piers website also has a convenient trip planner to help plan a vacation so I think I’ll use that to put it all together. What are you doing for the upcoming holidays?

Okay, New Jersey isn’t typically a place someone dreams of going to on a vacation, but I have to tell you, having lived on the East Coast before, New Jersey has some very beautiful areas, including their beaches.
We used to live in Connecticut and would travel by car through New York and New Jersey to get down to Maryland where we had friend that we would visit. There were many parts of New Jersey that surprised me and I always wanted to take time to visit. If we were still living there, I’d be planning my next family beach vacation and it would be centered around visiting the New Jersey shore and Morey’s Piers.
Morey’s Piers is located in Wildwood, New Jersey and is on the boardwalk, a short distance from Cape May, New Jersey. My brother-in-law would be interested to know that Morey’s Piers is not too far from Atlantic City where all the casinos are located. Morey’s Piers itself has over 100 rides and attractions, including not just 1, but 2 waterparks. They have rides for the little ones as well as big roller coasters for the bigger kids who have a need for speed. With a name like “The Inverter”, it has to be wild!
We no longer live on the east coast, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still plan a family beach vacation.

I so thrilled about our upcoming vacations in July. You read that correctly, we’re actually taking more than one vacation this summer and both of them are in July. There are many years that we don’t take a vacation at all, so, for us to have two all ready planned is just unheard of!
Our first will be a working vacation in Tennessee. We’ll be spending a few day selling our fabric items at a booth in Knoxville. We have a few extra days though that we plan on seeing some sites and visiting with family. We’ll be heading home from that trip so that we can do laundry and regroup before heading out on a secret vacation to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I can’t tell you where we’re going because he might just read this post and that would give away the surprise. Let’s just say we’re going to have some fun, do some exploring and enjoy some great family time.
It’s not always easy planning a trip with kids of any age. We have a twelve year old and I always like to make sure there is something for all of us to enjoy. Most importantly, the activities have to be things we can enjoy doing together, that’s what family time is all about.
If I lived on the east coast, I might be looking for things to do in New Jersey. And, if I were looking for family fun activities to do in New Jersey, I’d very quickly discover that the first three Mondays in July are being called Magic Mondays. Magic Mondays are when radio Disney’s hottest musical artists will appear live on Morey’s Piers for free concerts, twice each Monday, at 1 and 4 P.M.. The Radio Disney Summer Concert Series finale is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Wildwoods Convention Center Oceanfront Arena.
If you’re considering a vacation to New Jersey, consider Cape May hotels and Morey’s Piers. Great places to stay and great places for entertainment.
Do you have plans this summer?
