School Supply Shopping

School Supply Shopping

My daughter and I just got back from running errands. I am surprised, although I shouldn’t be, to find the stores are all ready gearing up for “back to school” season with the shelves being stocked with school supplies. It feels as if summer break has just started. I know July is going to fly by since we have so many plans to keep us busy. Then it will be August and before you know it, the first day of school.

I should probably go to the school district website and see if I can get my hands on a school supply list. I know my daughter would like a new backpack to start the year. She’s been using the same one since 1st grade, and she’s going into 7th grade this year! I guess it’s time to update.

Something else I need to do update is the computer software. She will be in all pre-AP (advanced placement) classes and we’ve been told that we can expect a tougher work load and more projects. It’s important that she have the right computer software to complete her work and I think she should go Back to school with Microsoft Office 2007from Costcaptain.com. As a student, she qualifies to receive this authentic Microsoft product at an academic discount, we just have to provide proof of eligibility. While I don’t homeschool her, if I did, she would still qualify.

I’m nervous about my daughter moving up to junior high, but she’s very excited. I think if I can make sure she has all the supplies, support, and of course, clothes she needs to succeed, I will feel more excited about it too.

Cost Captain For School

Well, it’s almost official. Four more weeks and my daughter will officially be a Junior High student. It’s difficult for me to believe, time is flying by way too fast. It hit home though on Friday when she brought home her class assignments for the fall, yes, all ready!

For seventh grade, my daughter will be taking science, Texas history, band, PE, pre-AP math, pre-AP reading, and pre-AP English. Amazingly, she wants to appeal her science class assignment, she feels (and so do I) that she should be in pre-AP (advanced placement). Either way, I think she is going to have her work cut out for her next year. Advanced placement courses require much more work and often lead to more homework.

I’m going to need to make sure my computers have the most up to date software to handle any projects or assignments she’ll be required to do. I currently have an older version of Microsoft Office but would like to see about getting an updated version. Students can get a discount on Office 2007 Suite and I want to look into that. I just need to provide proof of eligiblity and then the order can be processed.

It seems odd that we haven’t yet ended the school year, and I’m all ready planning for next year. I just like to know we’re ahead of the game and not panicking at the last minute.

How do you prepare your children for Junior High or High School?

Cost Captain for Academic Discounts

I spent 5 years working in 5th and 6th grade class rooms and almost that long working with Girl Scouts. I’ve just completed my first year working as a Team Manager for a 6th grade Destination Imagination team, sponsored by the elementary school. The one thing that all of these jobs have in common? I have to stay organized.

To help me stay organized, I used my laptop with Microsoft Office loaded on it. Most of the time I’m using Word, Excel or Publisher, all very helpful programs. I have to say though that Microsoft Office, just like any other software program, is very expensive. Most of my work now is volunteer work, so it’s not easy to come up with funds to pay for expensive software.

At CostCaptain.com I can get 100% authentic Microsoft products and, after providing them with academic eligibility, they will ship me Microsoft Office 2007 for around $129. Why? Because they give academic discounts! By the way, if you homeschool, you qualify too!

I all ready have the program, but I can also get gift certificates for my academic friends. I know I’d be lost without these programs!
