My Quest to Buy Outerwear

My Quest to Buy Outerwear

We’re leaving on Sunday for a week in California and when we get back, we’ll be gearing up for one more softball tournament, the last of the fall season. Last week we froze our butts off at a tournament in 40 degree temperatures and high winds, so I want to make sure we have warmer coats and maybe even some long johns for this next tournament. Yes, even in Texas we have bone chilling weather!

I’m planning on going to the Sears Super Saturday Sale this Saturday, November 22. They open at 7 a.m. and the special deals only go until noon, but that’s all the time I need to get exactly what we need!

Here’s my plan of attack. Outerwear and sweaters for the entire family will be on sale that morning for 60% off, so I’ll load up on those items first. Maybe I can even find a cute little jacket for our grandbaby that we’ll be seeing on Sunday. Then, as a bonus, and because I’ve absolutely worn out my current vacuum, I’ll be heading over to buy the Kenmore Progressive vacuum. It will be on sale Saturday morning at its lowest price of the season for only $229.99, a savings of $70. Anyone who has a pet knows, you have to have a good vacuum, and this is what I need to pick up all the dog hair around here. I vacuum at least a couple times a week, so I need a good sturdy vacuum that can handle it.

These sales are one day only Doorbuster sales, so I will be there first thing in the morning to take advantage. There are no rain checks either, these prices are only good while supplies last, so it’s important to get there early. This works out well for me because I have a ton of other stuff to get done later in the day in preparation for our trip.

What will you be doing Saturday morning?

Discounts at Family and Friends Night

We are definitely turning into a softball family and softball supplies aren’t cheap. Yesterday I even had to make an emergency trip to a sporting goods shop to get warmer sweats because my daughter’s team was playing in a tournament and the temperature was 40 degrees at 8 a.m., the start time of their first game.

The team practices once a week, plus attends batting practice once a week. In between, it’s important for my daughter to practice her pitching, but it would be great if she could also keep her batting practice up on a more regular basis. I think I’ve found the answer, a batting cage that we can put in our backyard.

I found this one at Sears, and, even better, I can attend the Sears Friends & Family VIP Night tonight at the store from 6-9 p.m. or, I can even take advantage of the discounts tonight online from 6 p.m.-6 a.m. The discount is an extra 10% off almost everything, and an extra 5% off home electronics.  Plus, apparel and jewelry are an extra 15% discount and outerwear is an extra 20%.  That’s really good news considering how cold we were yesterday out at the ball fields, we could all use some new outerwear to prepare for the next softball tournament that is just 2 weeks away.

Besides shopping for softball, I plan to have all of my holiday shopping done soon and there is no way I’m venturing out of the house on Black Friday to deal with the crowds. With the Sears Friends & Family VIP Night I don’t need to wait until Black Friday to get the good deals, I can get them tonight, and so can you!

Calling Out for Advertisers

A few months ago, I became a member of SocialSpark.com as another way to monetize my site. Of course, SocialSpark is more than a way to earn money, it’s a social community where I’ve made a number of friends, found bloggers with similar crafting interests and been introduced to new advertisers.

SocialSpark has had some very interesting opportunities, some of which I’ve posted on this blog. This is my personal blog and I want all of my posts, even those that I’m paid for, to reflect my interests. I’d love to see more crafting companies like Joann’s or Michael’s sponsor blogs like mine. Trust me, I spend enough at their stores, I sponsor them! Other companies I’d love to have sponsor me would include Viking sewing machines. I’ve spoken about them often on this blog and the sewing/embroidery machine I drool over on a regular basis is made by them.

Of course, I do other things besides sewing and would enjoy being sponsored by food product companies and, in particular, I can’t live without my Green Mountain Coffee. I’ve been a coffee club member with them for about 7 years and would feel honored to have them sponsor this blog.

Besides eating, I maintain our home and use cleaning products, do laundry, pool maintenance, and yard work. Let’s see, I believe Lysol is my most frequently used cleaning product, Tide and Downey are my laundry products of choice and we use a ton of Sears lawn products to keep our yard and shrubs under control as well as patio furnishings. Any and all of these companies would be welcomed as sponsors on this blog. Leslie’s Pool Supplies is a large supplier of all of our pool chemicals and equipment, they would also be welcomed here.

I could go on and on listing companies that I feel would be a great fit for sponsorships on this blog. I can’t forget about my family and shopping for them. We do a lot of business at Target, Home Depot and Lowe’s, all of which would be awesome sponsors.

So, if any of these companies are reading this blog, pay attention. Please consider advertising through SocialSpark.com, whether you go with a written post to create buzz or a review of a product, or a day to day sponsorship, I would be thrilled to have you sponsor my blog!
