The weather here in North Texas has been absolutely insane this week. One day it’s in the 80’s, the next it’s highs in the 50’s. One day the sun is out, the next we’ve got a pile of hail on the ground from sever storms. We simply never know what it’s going to do. Today, it’s beautiful and crisp, just right for getting out and doing some yard work, time to pull those weeds!
Personally, I find that when the weather changes so drastically like this, my skin suffers. I put lotion on every single day following my shower, but the high winds and constant changes in temperature here require different skin care products. There’s nothing worse than feeling scaly or itchy, so I always want to have the right product on hand.
Now, besides the weather conditions, I also have to consider the age of my skin. I’m not one to consider plastic surgery, but there are certainly Age Defying Complete Skin care Solution products available that are worth using that can keep my skin looking young. I personally look for products that are dermatologist tested and approved.
I currently order my skin care products, including body lotion online. Once I’ve figured out how long it takes me to go through my product, I can subscribe to the auto-ship program which makes it super convenient to always have what I need on hand. Using auto-ship is also cost effective.
Well, now that I’ve told you what I do to my skin daily, I’m headed out into the gorgeous day to pull some weeds out of the flower beds. Before I go, let me remind you, make sure you’re using an SPF in your product, protect your skin!

I just returned from a machine embroidery class. I’m not posting here to talk about the class, I’ll do that in another post, but I observed something when I arrived for the class. I noticed immediately that three of the other four ladies taking the class appeared to be at least 15-20 years older than me. Part of their appearance that made them seem older was their hairstyles, but the primary contributing factor making them look older was their skin. Their skin looked older.
From the time I was in high school I’ve taken care of my skin. Besides keeping my face clean, I’ve always tried to use skin care products and I’ve always used products for sensitive skin. There are so many skin care products to choose from. Each person must find what’s right for them.
Personally, I always want products that are dermatologist tested, fragrance free, designed for sensitive skin and, now that I’m older, has age defying components. A good system that I found recently, is the Borba system. It consists of 4 steps.
- Cleanse
- Treat
- Protect/Hydrate
- Boost
If added incentive is needed, a free gift is given with every purchase of $100 or more. Definitely worth checking it out!

Besides the fact that I don’t like birthdays anymore, I just simply don’t like getting older. The reason I don’t like getting older is all the changes that seem to be going on in my body, most recently, my skin. Please, I’m in my 40’s and for the first time in my life, I’m experiencing acne! WTH?!
I never had acne as a teenager. That’s not to say I haven’t had the occasional zit or two, but I’m telling you, over the last few weeks, I feel like I’m having a sever break out on my forehead, chin and the back of my neck. I wash my face everyday, I shower every morning. I take great care in what facial products I use, using high end, no preservative make up and lotions. I’m also sensitive to fragrance, so I make sure my facial products have no scent. I’m thinking that age isn’t the only contributing factor here, but the change from living in the very dry Midwest to living in the more humid south.
I was doing some research on skin care looking for the best product for my skin and I stumbled across an online radio show hosted by Celeste Hilling. It’s a weekly, free radio show titled “Skin Health Today” and seems to be full of good, useful information. The shows listeners are allowed to interact and give their own input. I found it very interesting that one of their topics was “Acne: Not just for teens anymore”! Now that’s a topic I can certainly relate to.
