It Was a Nail Biter

I can’t believe I haven’t written this post sooner, I think I was so stressed about it that I didn’t want to talk about it anymore, but I’m ready to do some bragging now, so here I go.

Saturday was the championship game in my daughter’s softball league. Her team had placed second on the season (out of first place by only 2 runs) was playing the first place team. This is the only team that had beaten our girls during regular season play, and, the only team our girls had beaten. They had played twice during regular season and each took away a win.

These two also played each other in the first round of the tournament and our girls lost, but since it was double elimination, and we didn’t lose another game, we met them again in the championship game. It was critical that we beat them, it was the only way to take 1st place. If we did win the game, we would actually have to play them again to take 1st, as I said, it was double elimination, and they hadn’t lost a game in the tournament.

Let me just say, I could have used some AbsoluteCalm during this game, it was a real nail biter. The first inning ended with them leading 2-1. By the end of the second inning, we were in the lead, 6-2. We maintained the lead in the third inning, 8-4.

In this division, play end at 1 hour and 15 minutes. At the end of the third inning, there were 2 minutes left on the clock and the ump allowed a 4th inning to begin. Once the inning starts, in tournament play, the full inning must be played. Sadly, we lost the lead and they won 9-8. It was a very sad moment, only because our girls had played their hearts out and so deserved the win.

In case you didn’t know, my daughter is the pitcher for this team and with every pitch, I thought I was having a heart attack, it was so stressful. She is a very good pitcher, but, things can happen. If you’ve ever watched a softball or baseball game, you know what I mean. It is such a pressure filled position.

Anyway, I’ve had time to calm down and I’m happy to say that each of our team memebers received beautiful runner up trophies to take home with them. They all seemed very happy and that is, after all, the whole point of playing.

If we have to go through this again in the future, which I’m sure we will, I’m going to look in to the positive affects of Absolute Calm, it looks like it could be a safe and affective natual remedy for fighting stress and its damaging affects. Its purpose is to relax the body and nerves and to help the body feel refreshed. Sounds like a winner to me!
