Staying Young and Energetic

People are often surprised to find out my husband is over 50 and I am quickly coming up on the big 5-0. I don’t think either one of us look our age and, having a 12 year old daughter definitely helps keep us young. We have to keep up our energy in order to keep up with her!

For me personally, I try to do a lot of things to keep my mind sharp. I’ve always heard that keeping your mind active helps with your health and keeps you younger. There really are so many things to do, but having a hobby is a huge part of this. My sewing works wonders for me. Not only do I have to do planning, using numbers to calculate fabric quantity and reading of patterns, but I do occasionally take classes to learn new sewing techniques and methods. I even bought a complicated sewing machine that also has computer software. When I use that software to create embroidery designs, I am really working to keep my mind sharp!

I also like to play word games which I do a lot with my daughter. One of our favorite games to play together is Brain Age Academy. She usually is much better at it then me, but I’m always just happy to be successful at the game, even if I’m not the winner.

Physically, now that it’s summer, we work out a lot outside in the yard as well as in the swimming pool. I do have a treadmill too, and it hasn’t collected too much dust lately. My daughter also got me hooked on Dance Dance Revolution which is a fantastic way to keep in shape. I’ve burned a lot of calories, even if I’m laughing the entire time due to my lack of coordination!

Eating healthy also plays a large part in keeping our minds sharp and bodies healthy. I try to make sure that most of our meals are well rounded and balanced with plenty of vitamins. Fruit is pretty prevalent in our house too, there are too many health benefits to mention with fruit, but the natural vitamins you get from eating it are a huge part of why I eat it.

Vitamins such as B12,B6 and Folic acid are known to help keep the mind sharp, and promote energy and stamina. B12 isn’t the easiest vitamin to get and I hate shots, so the thought of receiving vitamin B12 shots is not a pleasant one. Sublingual B12 though, is designed to go under the tongue and directly into the blood stream. A much better, and safe alternative to B-12 shots.

Having a 12 year old means wanting to be around for a very long time. We need to do what we can to stay healthy and energetic. How about you? You can Try Sublingual B-12 from Trivita today.

Energy Boost

I had a very productive weekend, especially on Sunday. I began the morning as usual on Sunday with my morning coffee, sitting outside on the patio enjoying the fresh morning air. As I sat there, I realized that my head was only hurting slightly, a huge improvement over the last several weeks. I then decided it was a good time to begin trimming the bushes as they were still in the morning shade and it was going to get hot when the sun came around. So, I quickly put on some shorts and shirt and got busy working outside. I spent about 3 hours trimming bushes, taking a small break to eat a bowl of cereal and drink some water. When I finished the front yard, I came indoors and rested, doing a little work on my computer.

After lunch, I mowed the backyard on the riding mower and then decided to go for a swim. My daughter and husband both eventually joined me and we played some pool volleyball. I then convinced my husband to fix dinner so that I could then trim the bushes in the back of the house which were now in the afternoon shade. I completely exhausted myself, but I have to say, I’m so proud of the way the yard and landscaping looks right now!

I finally took a shower for the first time that day and let me tell you, after all the outdoor work I really needed that shower! I also need it to feel refreshed. The shower acted as an energy booster, sort of like sublingual B-12 can. I felt so much better! If the shower isn’t enough to re-energize you, try Sublingual B12, a safe, affordable and painless B12 shot alternative. Get your own box of sublingual B-12 from Trivita today.

Maybe I Need an Energy Boost

I’m on day 8 of my sinus infection treatment, a prescribed antibiotic, among other things. I’m not feeling any better today than I did 8 days ago when I went in to see the doctor. I had hope yesterday, after spending most of the day doing yard work, in the heat, I actually didn’t feel too bad. My head still hurt, but it was much more mild than it had been, bearable. This morning it was back to pain as usual. I’m becoming very frustrated.

Anyone who has ever had any kind of headache knows that when your head hurts, especially if it REALLY hurts, it’s difficult to get anything else done. I’ve been feeling so bad for so long now, if I didn’t keep doing things around the house, there’d be no clean clothes to wear, no clean dishes to eat off of and no food in the house to eat. Needless to say, I’m still doing my work around here. There are times though that I just have to sit back and close my eyes. This afternoon was one of those times.

I drove my daughter to her guitar lesson and by the time we got there I could barely keep my eyes open. It’s almost like I was sleep deprived. I told my daughter to go on in to her lesson and I sat in the car waiting for her. I had 30 minutes to sit back in the car with my eyes closed. By the time she came back out to the car, my eyes felt much better, even if my head was still hurting.

I plan on talking to the doctor next time I go in about different treatment options. The anti-biotic doesn’t seem to have had any affect. I’m still taking over-the-counter allergy medication and it helps keep my nose from running and eyes from watering so I can at least see to cut fabric. I’m also taking over the counter pain reliever for my headache, but I’m not sure how much good that’s doing either. I’m not a big fan of taking medications, but I’ve been doing my best to follow the doctors orders. I think I’m ready to hear what my options are since the current treatment plan isn’t working.

As for my lack of energy, that may be contributing to my headaches. I’m considering sublingual B-12 which is supposed to promote energy and stamina. The B vitamins help your body fight off illnesses and I could sure use help. If you’re thinking the same thing, Click here to get your own box of Trivita Sublingual B 12. which is safer and more affordable than a B-12 shot, not to mention painless.

Anyway, whatever I do, I just want my head to stop hurting, I’ve got sewing to do!
