As I get older, I’ve come to learn that some things in life just can’t be helped. This is definitely true when it comes to having to take prescription medications. I was diagnosed a few years ago with high cholesterol. My doctor and I worked together to try other way ways to bring my bad cholesterol down through diet, natural supplements and exercise. While it did reduce that bad number by a small amount, it wasn’t enough. My doctor determined that I have hereditary high cholesterol and the only way to manage it is by doing all the things I all ready mentioned, plus take a daily medication.
I take my little pill every day and I think the worst part is knowing how much I have to pay every month for that little bottle of pills. I have prescription coverage in my health insurance and I am still paying around $600 a year just for that one medication. I can’t imagine having to cover the entire expense with no insurance. If I couldn’t afford that medication I would be at a much higher risk of heart attack or even heart failure. That’s pretty scary.
I think it’s wonderful that Walgreens is offering a special discount for its Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. An annual family membership is only $35 a year and it covers everyone in your immediate family, including your spouse and even dependents up to age 22. Amazingly, it even covers prescription medications for your pets! I don’t know any health insurance that does that! Oh, and if you’re still single, you can get an individual membership for only $20 year.
Benefits of membership include savings on brand name and generic medicines, discounts on flue shots, nebulizers and diabetic supplies. You also earn bonuses whenever you purchase Walgreens brand products or Walgreens photofinishing services.
I know many people that can benefit from this program and I’m glad to know Walgreens is reaching out to help. We can all support Walgreens in their effort by “liking” Walgreens on Facebook and following Walgreens on Twitter.

Walgreens and Express Script have been unsuccessful in their year long negotiations. Walgreens seems to have made every attempt to keep costs flat and Express Scripts members happy, but to no avail. The two companies have parted ways.
What does this mean? Well, anyone who is a member of Express Scrips, as of Jan. 1 must go out and find a new pharmacy to handle their prescriptions, probably at a higher cost and at possibly less convenient locations. Walgreens are located on almost every corner in America and no matter where you are, you can walk into any Walgreens and get either a new prescription or even get an existing prescription refilled. Out of town on business? No problem, Walgreens will take care of you.
Because Walgreens is concerned about people who have their pharmacy coverage through Express Scripts, they are offering a very special discount on the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. $10 a year will get a family membership which covers spouses, children 22 and younger and even pets. Individual memberships are being offered at only $5/year.
Benefits include savings on prescription drugs, both brand-name and generic, discounts on flu shots, diabetic supplies, nebulizers and yes, even pet prescriptions. Plus, receive bonuses whenever you purchase Walgreens brand products and photofinishing services.
I think it’s a real shame that Express Scripts couldn’t come to some sort of agreement and it’s at the expense of its members. Show your support by “Liking” Walgreens on Facebook and follow Walgreens on Twitter.

Luckily, my family rarely gets sick. However, I do have allergies that seemed to wreck havoc with my sinuses ever since moving to Texas. After going through countless medicines to find one that would work for me, I finally asked my Walgreen’s pharmacist what he thought would work the best. After describing my symptoms of itchy, watery eyes and a throat tickle that was driving me crazy, he recommended Walgreen’s Wal-Dryl Allergy Relief Capsules.

I think it always helps that my pharmacist lives in the area and has knowledge of what has worked for other people who experience the types of allergies popular in the Dallas area. I feel like I am in on a little secret when I buy the Walgreen’s brand because I save so much money on a product that has the exact same ingredients as the name brand products. Before trying the Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products, I was a bit leery of the potency and whether it would be the same as the name brand but all of Walgreen’s health and wellness products carry a 100% satisfaction guarantee so I decided I couldn’t lose! I am so glad I took the pharmacist’s advice and gave Wal-Dryl Allergy Relief a try. It has helped me so much!
It is a good feeling to know that every purchase of Walgreen’s Brand Health & Wellness products that I make helps Walgreens in the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.

Around our house, we use a lot of adhesive bandages for first aid. There are the typical nicks and cuts that require treatment and protection, but my husband and daughter both have issues with their nail cuticles on their fingers. They both uses bandages wrapped around their finger tips to protect their cuticles, almost every day. This means adhesive bandages are purchased in our home almost as often as we buy milk. And, just like when I purchase milk, I look for quality and fair pricing.
Recently I received a box of Walgreen’s Brand Adhesive Bandages to try out and, in exchange, I said I would give my honest feedback on their product. So, here are my opinions of the Walgreens Brand Adhesive Bandages, part of the Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products .

I found the Walgreen’s Brand Adhesive Bandages work as well as any name brand of bandage we’ve ever used in our first aid kit. The bandages were comfortable and protected the wounds that were being treated, better than I expected. To my surprise, when I did a little online shopping, I discovered that the price of the Walgreen’s Brand Adhesive Bandages is more than a full $1 cheaper than some of the name brand products. With our current family budget, that is a HUGE deal!
I haven’t yet tried other Walgreen’s Brand Health & Wellness products, but I certainly plan to based on my experience with the bandages. Why should I spend more of my hard earned money for the same quality product, not to mention that they are all pharmacist recommended products and come with a satisfaction guarantee.
In addition to being quality made products, the purchase of every Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products helps to bring preventative wellness services through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™to which Walgreen’s contributes up to $3 million annually. This fund helps provide preventative health screenings to local communities.
